Statement from VERITY NOW on the Euro NCAP Vision 2030 Report

Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) released its Vision 2030 Report this month. VERITY NOW, a coalition to end gender discrimination in vehicle safety testing, has issued the following statement on the new report:

 “We are pleased by the direction of Euro NCAP’s Vision 2030 report, which acknowledges the critical importance of gender equity in vehicle safety testing. In the report, Euro NCAP proposes adopting the THOR 5F dummy, which is realistic and faithful to women’s bodies and would make vehicles safer for drivers and passengers. Women are 73% more likely to be seriously injured in a motor vehicle crash, and Euro NCAP understands that we can help resolve this disparity by ensuring gender equity in safety testing.”
