Detroit Free Press: Pete Buttigieg told to start requiring greater use of female-crash dummies right away

U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is being urged to update vehicle crash testing immediately to include the most up-to-date models of female crash dummies in both the driver and passenger seats in place of a historical reliance on male dummies.

U.S. Rep. Brenda Lawrence, D-Southfield, helped lead a letter sent Tuesday from dozens of House members telling Buttigieg to move quickly given a reported spike in traffic fatalities in the first six months of last year.
